What a grand and glorious thing it is to rise above one’s own pain and

and gift life to strangers in need !

Times of India, Mumbai, 15th April, 2012 covered the following incident that really touched me deep inside. These are the moments which reiterate our faith in humanity despite all dark sides; reiterate our faith in the timeless wisdom that even the darkest cloud has a silver lining: we just need the willingness and eye to look beyond!

I – Life is like eating an Illishi fish

I am a bigtime fan of  Illishi(Hilsa fish) and my children simply love watching me relish a fried Illishi piece!

(For those who do not know about this fish, please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilsa)

Ask any Illishi fan – would he/she stop eating it just because of the bones ? No way, I bet!! In fact, many would even assert, come on, it is so very sweet and tasty only because it is so bony! And observe closely how dexteriously they manage to eat the fish, all the way averting any of the fine bones hurting their mouth or worse still, slipping down their throat!!

Pause n Ponder

What goes around comes around  !!

One day while working on his farm, Fleming, a poor Scottish farmer, heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He rushed to the spot and saw in the bog, a highly terrified boy, mired till his waist in black muck – crying, screaming and struggling to come out ! Fleming saved the young boy from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a luxury carriage pulled up in front of Fleming’s modest house. A rich and elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

The nobleman expressed his deepest gratitude , saying, “ You saved my son; I would like to repay you.”

Farmer Fleming said, “ No, I can not accept any payment for what I did”, waving off the offer.

At that moment, the farmer’s own son showed up at the door.  “ Is that your son?”, asked the nobleman. “Yes”, Farmer Flaming replied. Then the nobleman made an offer humbly, “ I will make a deal. Let me take him and give him a good education. If the lad is anything like his father,he will grow to be a man you will be proud of.”

And that he did. Farmer Fleming’s son graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become famous throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterwards, the nobleman’s son was once suffering from pneumonia and he was saved by Penicillin ! The nobleman was Lord Randolph Churchill and his son was none other than Sir Winston Churchill !!!!!!!

Yes, an act of kindness never goes waste – what goes around eventually comes around! Yes ! It is good to be good, ultimately!!

Just felt like uploading! After listening to it, I am aghast… how many mistakes in sur I have committed! Nevertheless, just enjoyed singing. Wish, I had some way to have accompanying music.

To listen to it properly, one needs to use a speaker and put the volume on the maximum ( or a headphone). My recordings at home have a problem with volume. When I burn them onto a CD and play at the highest volume on a music system, it comes out fine.
